Nifty TiVo discovery...

When I record shows on the Series 3 TiVo, I can't transfer them to the Series 2 units since those are not HD-equipped. I just found a great workaround to this. I use TiVo Desktop to transfer the files to my desktop then I edit out the commercials using VideoReDo. Once this is done and the files are stripped to their native MPEG format, I can send them to any TiVo device, even ones that aren't equipped to handle 720p/1080i programming. The files are a bit larger, but it's worth it since a transfer back to the Series 3 shows they maintain their HD integrity. This is very, very useful.
