some guy in England ripped off Catptain Marvel stories and art and made them with Marvelman. Same schitk magic word turns dude in super hero, kid sidekick with similar name.
Marvel Man goes out of print years later....then in the 1980's Alan Moore is hired to writer Marvelman stories. Before it's printed here in the states Marvel Comics forces a name change to Miracleman and the series is made. Neil Gaiman takes over after a few issues and the series becomes highly acclaimed...comic company making the book goes out of business. Todd McFarlane buys that comic company and everything the own. Turns out there were deals between Todd and Neil in that Neil was supposed to get all Miracelman materials and rights, Todd goes back on deal, lawsuits happen and Todd loses. He still doesn't turn it over.
Neil and Marvel go into business together for a couple of projects to fund lawyers to clear the way for purchase of Marvelman. Turns out that the comic company in the 80's didn't own anything of Marvelman/Miracleman. So they make deal with Mick Anglo creator of Marvelman...
Marvelman to be published sometime next year. What everyone wants is the Miracleman stuff to be reprinted. No idea if that is happening
