so many times this has happened with different stylists over the years, it's nuts -- they'll seem ok for a while, then blammo:
i asked for 3/4 of an inch off the length, she showed me the first cut, and it was fine. by the time she was done, *inches* were gone. i called her out on it, and she said it happened because she was evening things out. glad she got there before it was up to my ears! pfft. (my hair was down my back, now it's barely at my shoulders - d'oh. it's ok and will be more wavy at this length, just... i didn't ask for it, and it's been a challenge to get it to be/stay long.)
