of course, they are still your friend even if you ignore them in our news feed, that's the big difference, on paper. But once you've ignored someone on facebook in your news feed, they mostly disappear for you on facebook anyway. You don't see them, you don't know what's going on with them, you are blind to their existence, in facebook-land.
