Bery: I'm talking about posts from a user account, but from/about an app. Like an automated post in [Person X's] feed that they just got to Level 4

in a game. The game posts that, but it posts as [Person X]. In my experience, you can't get rid of posts like that without ignoring [Person X]. There is no choice to ignore [Game] in that case.
