yeah, it would cost me about $50 to buy a new hub and card for the server.

see, my server took 16hours to back up 50 gig of stuff. most of the time, the transfer speed was less than 1mbs.

now, part of that may be the ethernet of power I was using, so I am gonna try again with regular cat 5/6 cables to a 10/100 hub.
