Roald Dahl, Natalie Babit, chris van allsburg and several more writers got horrible reviews from *some* parents and *some* school librarians. I have always thought just the opposite. Their stories deal with strong emotions rather than just being namby pamby sweet. Wild Things was always my fave when D was little--it let her know that it was ok to get angry and throw tantrums, but there would be consequences. I have no idea why so many idiot parents don't get this. :)
