In response to "best cheese for grilled cheese and bacon? lets see you nuance that -- nm" by crash davis

After experimenting with various cheese combinations, I've found several appropriate for anyone's particular tastes.


For a subtle, mild flavor and extremely gooey texture, I recommend three to four slices of Kraft's American Cheese Deluxe and one slice of Tillamook Swiss.

If you prefer a bolder flavor and firmer texture, then four slices of Tillamook Medium Cheddar is your best bet. Of course, you can vary the flavor by switching out one or more slices for Tillamook Sharp Cheddar (or even the Extra Sharp 'black label' cheddar), or the Tillamook Smoked Cheddar.

And if you are feeling adventurous, I recommend two slices of Kraft American Deluxe, one slice of Tillamook Medium Cheddar, and one ounce of shaved Kelly Irish Cheese as the top layer.
