I had all sorts of tests afterwards and they could never find a definative reason but it leaned toward ritalin.

There is no history of epilepsy in my family and I have never had another since.

Because of that I am very hesitant about taking any drugs unless absolutely necessary. I only got my first flu shot ever last year. I even try to avoid asprin and the like along with allergy stuff as much as possible (and I have a number of allergies).

I would still give my kids vaccines but I would want to make sure they are safe. Any drug has side effects and you do have to way the benefits of anything that people take. I think drugs are perscribed too easily now and people too often expect a drug will fix it.
