Windows 7 installation experience so far...

Backed up my data and settings with the Easy Transfer Wizard. Just transferred it all to my home server. Creates one big file (54 Gigs!!!) Piece of cake. I then discovered my old Windows XP hard drive (160 Gb) and added it to my desktop. I now have two hard drives in my desktop, one with Windows XP, the other with the evaluation version of Windows 7. I've downloaded the $30 student edition of Windows 7 Pro (Upgrade) and followed the secret instructions to turn it into a bootable disc. I restart my computer with the disc in my drive and Windows 7 installs in what is surely less than 30 minutes. It installs... YUP. On the Evaluation hard drive, not the XP hard drive. I hope the Easy Transfer Wizard caught everything, or I'm SCREWED. See, I was using the Evaluation hard drive as my primary hard drive for months. After the installation is complete, I use the Easy Transfer Wizard to restore my data and settings and sure enough, everything's back! You'd be shocked at just what settings get retained. After installing Firefox (step 3 after install Windows Security Essentials), I found all my Firefox add-ins and settings retained. Wow. Next step, purchase the Office 2007 Enterprise edition for $10 and download...

This is the easiest re-installation of a computer I've ever done.
