If it's from youtube, I use a Firefox extension called DonwloadHelper.

It not only recognizes youtube but pretty much any embedded video I have come accross.
However, if for stream you mean a true live stream, it might not work. I had a Windows proggie somewhere I could dig up, but 100% it didn't have a Mac version.
