good news! FWIW - my brothers dog had one in her chest area and the vet told us that it was a "fatty tumor" and that as long as it didn't bother her

it was best left alone. Then - much to our complete shock - he raised his shirt and showed us he had one on his chest area (he's a great vet really - and it made us laugh but with relief almost). He said it was perfectly fine to leave them alone and actually might keep others from cropping up.
