Suspensions in the NHL rather random. Ruutu does have a history where Richards is a "clean" player.

Listening to sports here you get the a very differing opinion on the Richards hit. The meathead point is it part of the game, the guy should have kept his head up. I see it as they obviously don't really care about the health of the players if they don't try to discourage such dangerous hits as that.
