3k, 5k... won't be long. 5 years, max. Once HDTVs hit a certain market penetration, the electronics manufacturers will need something new.

Already their business model has been turned upside down by the advent of HDTVs. They used to make TVs that would last 30 years. Now, people buy a new TV every 10 years or less. I've bought 3 HDTVs in the last two years! They're not about to give up this cash cow. After they get past this whole 3D-TV trend, they'll move to 3k and 5k TVs. It's coming, soon.
