I know but I'm thinking that a lot of people aren't going to be interested in a "green" car unless it's also fun to drive.

It's a major factor in the sales of cars and I don't think that'll change. IMO, for the car manufacturers to sell "green" cars at the same rate they do now they'll need more than just an economic electric car. It'll need some speed too.
