The thing is, I still have my heart set on that other dog - the family who beat us to it happened to be taking her for a test-walk when I got to the shelter. It's a couple and their 6-yr old boy, who was *psyched* to be taking this dog for a spin. That made me happy, knowing she'd be in what is probably a good family, but still...very sad that we probably won't get her.
But I don't want to hold it against another sweet dog who might not be exactly what we wanted, but might wind up being a great dog, too. This dog is much bigger than we were looking for. But those eyes...those sad eyes make me want to take him home and love him.
