what are you shooting with? good camera have decent 'environmental' seals not exactly water proof but a bit of drizzle isn't going to ruin them, but a lower end pro=sumer, yeah

using an add=on flash helps even if you don't use the flash, it's infrared pre exposure sensor helps your auto focus and camera exposure more than its internal stuff.
