lyc work rant

ok, this is a small firm, most of them time there are only 4 people (out of a possible 7) in the office. one person has the job of answering phones/the door. but we all answer the phone when we can.

for the last week, every time I answer the phone, I get a snide/smartalec comment from this person. "why should you bother with petty things like that" or "just let it go to voicemail, no one cares it if rings" (note, our phone system is setup to ring 7 times before it even goes to voicemail, and we have this freaking loud bell that rings so that everyone in the office can hear the phone is ringing).

so yesterday, in the middle of a phone conversation, someone comes into the office and rings the bell (yes, we have a bell for service, dont ask, its stupid). once I get off the phone, I walk up to see who it is. at about the same moment I get there, the firm "administrator" walks out to answer the door. she looks at me and says "dont you have something more important to be doing". now, I walked up there because when I got off the phone, I saw that her and the other lady in the office were both on the phone.

today, she does the same thing to me. actually making a comment in front a client about me not getting there right when the bell rang (umm, I was talking to the boss) then laughing with the client at me.

I am just tired of this lady's jeckyl and hyde attitude about stuff. when I first started working here, she loved me. then when a young black man started, and was fired 4 months later (he would just leave work whenever he wanted, etc) she hated me (supposedly I caused him to get fired) to the point where she attempted to slap me a couple of times.

this cycle repeats itself every 6 months or so.

I am getting tired of this. everything I now do is wrong. regardless. it is wrong.
