It's true that they sped up the timeline of a lot of that stuff. but here's the key that Guy and TMQ don't understand:

It's in service of a good story. You want mind numbing technical accuracy: Read Tom Clancy.
It's also an error to assume that FNL is a show about football: it's a show about a town and the people that live in it, who happen to care a lot about football.
