Can anyone explain to me why my Firefox is suddenly saying"Firefox is currently in offline mode and can't browse the Web"?

Offline mode

Safari is working just fine. I forced quit and re-opened, same message. I rebooted the computer, same message.

email is fine, safari is fine.

do i need to uninstall and reinstall? (like i know how to uninstall on a mac.)
