BTW - a rare pre-downturn Economist editorial in favour of regulation

Naturally, it's in favour of regulators using the tools they have, rather than having new ones legislated, and it applauds regulators for being 'unobtrusive' and 'sensible' (and says there is a lesson to be learned if they are obtrusive).

I find it's pretty typical of the magazine's approach - basically, that regulation is good when it increases shareholder value, and undesirable when it doesn't.
