I believe choking exists in the world. But it's been studies numerous times and shown to not exist in *MLB* to any significant extent.

It's largely a selection bias. By the time elite hitters get to the major leagues, guys who choke are effectively weeded. There may be a *few* isolated cases, but in general, in the Majors, good hitters hit in the clutch, bat hitters don't. It's a function of being good, not of being clutch.
