That's the reason it got canceled. Warner Bros. (or the production house, I forget which) was splitting the bill on the tv show.

They wanted to keep interest up prior to the movie. With its impending release, they were no longer willing to foot the bill on the tv show. So, its cost would have gone up as its ratings continued to degrade. I still think it never would have done a 0.8, though.
