"Never did George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt. Martin Luther King Jr. or Ronald Reagan arouse so much raw emotion."

1) People didn't stand around screaming "I love you!" to anyone back in the days of Washington, Lincoln, or FDR. The cultural landscape was completely different. I do remember hearing this (at least in 2000) for Bush.
2) Ronald Reagan exciting people?
