LYC: I hastily yanked my external drive's USB cord out of my laptop, and now I get a "a problem has been detected" 0x7E Stop error when I try to boot.

Even safe boot produces this blue screen of death.
After several hours, I finally found a Microsoft page that explains this and says it has a hotfix for it. But currently the download page for the hotfix says "The system is currently unavailable. Please try back later..."
In the meantime I guess I have to figure out how to apply a hotfix when I can't even safe boot.
