OK, tell me this. What's the point of a sex tape?

I can see few purposes for it:

1 - To document a conquest for the arrogant and self-centered. See Barney Stinson.

2 - To give something to a "loved one" who is not present. See Carrie Prejean.

3 - Exhibitionists (i.e. "amateurs") who intend to distribute the tape.

As for the rest..? Those who do it with a partner, that is... what is it? Game film to improve your technique? As a stimulus? Really, the person's right there next to you. You need to see them on tape? Hey, Tommy Lee... you can reach over and grab Pam's boobs, or you can watch her on tape. What's it gonna be?
