figures I'd miss this. period would be quaternary/neogene (they're more or less the same thing), epoch you could argue either pleistocene or holocene

I think the last ice age technically ended in the holocene, but most of it would've begun to recede in the pleistocene. there's kind of a beringian era. it's not really on any geologic time scale, but it's generally understood to mean when the beringian land bridge was around during the last glacial maximum, and generally refers to the flora/fauna that existed around the vaguely yukon/alaska area then too.
