I think it's really the appearance of the economy that drives voters than the economy itself.

If the economy is slightly better in 2012 than it was in 2008, but we're in another recession, Obama will have a tough time getting re-elected.

The only reason I don't go higher is the potential it'll already have dropped south again...but that's about the only way I think the GOP gains a good
