i haven't even read the article, but i get not wanting anyone waiting in the waiting room.

i know that i have an over-developed sense of 'responsibility' or whatever, and i would, honestly, feel guilty keeping people 'waiting.' and, also, as soon as the baby is actually out, i don't want to have someone (especially someone i don't really like) rushing in at that moment.

i agree that it seems like they could choose to ignore, but they really can't.
