I watched the first one very objectively recently for my AFI project.

As I watched, I kept thinking, "when does this part happen? Not yet?" Then I got to the end of the movie and realized all the good bits happen in Empire Strikes Back. I think Star Wars is an important movie and I completely understand why nine-year-old me loved it, but it's really kind of overwrought and dull.
