And when you have a crush, particularly when you're young, you can delude yourself pretty easily. It's not even necessarily thinking you can make a guy switch teams. It's more of ramping up your gaydar to eleven just trying to see what you want to see, and finding any possible signal that he might actually be gay and just not out yet.
I mean just look at all of the Hotkiss based threads on this board, and it's not too difficult to think that someone at that age can be so irrational because they are hoping that something might be so.
