succeed.
I have a friend who I wish nothing but the best, but his idea of success in his chosen endeavor, while noble and laudable, is so narrow and difficult to attain that I think he's likely not to succeed.
He *should* succeed. The quality of his work is high. But the system he's working within isn't likely to recognize the quality of his work.
There are other avenues to success in his endeavor, but he views them as less fulfilling.
Even though the outcome is the same: His work in front of the intended audience.
