Essentially HQ gets all of NBP's assets for taking over their Long-term debt (about 4.75 billion).
The debt is self financing in that NB ratepayers will end up paying it one way or the other (either to NBPower or HQ) so essentially HQ just takes over the company...
NBP is NB's largest employer...for now...
HQ will pay no taxes on New Brunswick income (over the last 5 years NBP has made around $300 million and paid around $200 million in taxes = GONE from New Brunswick's bottom line)...
Rates are frozen for 5 years, year 6 looks to be in.sane. for rate increases.
