Allen got stuck in the generic rock veign which is killing his album sales, and is doing nothing for him. Lambert can pretty much do whatever he wants. While it was done for controversy, I don't care, he shook it up and while the live show wasn't great, his album version is hot.

Granted I won't buy the album b/c I think he overdoes it all, but the song imo was a good first single to establish his genre.
