You're more likely to see Orcas, Narwhals, Sperm Whales, all kinds of bears, etc

The glaciers calve in the spring too and I hear that's pretty cool to watch. In mid May it'll be "brisk" but not cold. My inlaws have done 3-4 Alaska cruises and my mother in law has told me the early/spring cruises are the best, with fall second best. She also said she will never go on another cruise when school is out. Evidently kids go apeshit on boats. :)
