Me too. And since serving on boards of directors, I've come to believe the best education about financial responsibilty comes from managing

other people's money where you are on the hook for any decisions they don't like. Serving an elected position is an eye opening experience and education about how government works, and if there were a way to simulate that at the high school level I would be highly in favor of it. Unfortunately, student council positions don't come as close to the level of responsibility found in the real world.
