there is a phenom of people living out in the suburbs etc are expected to drive hours, but the ones in the center city never ever reciprocate

I mean I live in Tacoma which is a shadow of seattle, we get people from out by the foothills and up from Olympia but folks from here never go down there.
There was a really cool band from san fran, (albino, a good afrobeat group, 12 man big band) playing in a club in oly and I tried to get some folks from here to go, they would have gone to seattle to see them at a club that had a big cover charge plus drinks that start at 7 but noooooo they wouldn't drive south to a funky college area bar with cheaper drinks and a hardly why bother cover charge
