Well last week confronted her on the internet traffic log from my network at home. Just an FYI I log my network traffic just to watch for incursions and such and any breach to my home network.
While doing so I did find that site I told you about.
So sat the niece down and asked her WTH
She was angry and embarrassed. Accused me of trying to control her life and tell her what to do.
I said that she is pretty and smart and has so much potential I would not let her make a train wreck of her life by doing something stupid like this. I dont monitor the network to spy on her but it caught my eye and I knew it wasnt cassie so she needed to tell me what was up. She honestly thought she could go out with these guys for like 300 a week and never have to do anything sexual....come on...its scary she really thought that.
I explained to her that in no uncertain terms that what she was doing was a form of prostitution and it would not be happening from my house or over my laptop I loaned her. I explained I am not controlling her life but I control the life that happens in my HOME and that wouldnt happen here.
If she did it again I would call her parents and her bf and tell them what she was doing and she would be looking for a new place to live. She was upset but then told me the following:
Not sure how much is bullshit ..shes pretty broken from her mom - she was youngest of 4 daughters and well got shafted in the love dept. She says that since bryan is far away she feels lonely without her BF here and that she needs people to tell her shes pretty or smart or desirable or whatever to make her not feel lonely and worthless. I let bryan know just enough that he needs to keep communicating with her and warned him of her brokeness and what challenges he has before him so at least he has informed decision options.
I can see that with her mom the way she is but jesus thats way outside Uncle Davids ability to fix - I know she needs therapy but have no idea how to get her some - she cant pay for it and has no insurance.
I hope this is just a cry for help me give me structure. She starts paying rent this week and my wife and i made a unified front about her NOT doing what she was doing from our house. She will either run back to her ex BF in WA, try to outfox me or get better.
any advice and thoughts welcome
