At the same time a player shouldn't go unpunished for something that's apparently suspension-worthy just because the refs missed it. -- nm

That's the part I don't agree with..it's not suspension worthy. It's a free kick.

Exactly, what if a player runs up beside another player and clocks him one while the ref isn't looking. Same difference, he should get punished. -- nm
