LIR: You know, I do wish more TV were compatible with just being on in the background while you do other stuff

I think there is a trend now that you have to *pay attention* to every plot twist and story arc, or you will just get lost in the series because future events will build on that (and then the series inevitably gets cancelled by the network, but that is another tangent). That's part of what made Farscape great for me. Most every ep is its own nugget of adventure. It's got music, it's got wacky characters and outlandish situations.
I miss episodic stories. (*hums the theme to Gilligan's Island*)

No. I enjoy TV with a higher IQ than that. If I want something "on" while I'm doing other things, I'll turn on some music or something -- nm

I think that's why I watch a lot of FoodTV and DIY shows. People talk to me, but I don't really have to listen to them. -- nm

But I figure hercules and xena are very easy for "background" viewing -- nm

I agree I can only have it "in the background" whne I am MMO playing cause that takes less attention than the show...and OMG the FS episode
