ODST used Halo 3's code. Reach is all new design from the ground up.

That's what they're saying anyway. I agree that ODST didn't differentiate itself a lot though as a Firefly fan, I was still quite pleased with it.

I really wonder why Halo 3's gameplay experience (as in, the campaign interaction/plot/story) seems so inferior to Half Life 2's -- nm

I agree. I think that's the only thing Half Life has over Halo. And Half Life is excellent -- nm
