A couple things that are bugging me about the whole global warming debate.

#1 is how it's totally taken over the environmentalism debate. You can't seem to separate any environmental issue from it any more. There are reasons to do a lot of things that would still be relevant even if global warming were absolutely not an issue, but everything gets couched in terms of the world is going to end because of global warming and it contaminates the issue.
#2 is people who say that there is no debate about it any more. That's just so anti-science. Remember at one point there was no debate that the Earth was the center of the universe. There is always new data to look at and adjustments or even complete reversals of theories when they don't fit the new data.

#1 is redundant and #2 simply not true

I concur on both points. Especially #1 - now if you don't believe that the apocolypse is coming, you hate the environment.

I think I've said it a few times here, but what bugs me is the race for the scariest stats

Yeah, #1 bothers me too. We should take care of our surroundings regardless of impending doom. -- nm

It seems to me that we are on some road to energy independence, because corporations here have taken steps in that direction -- nm
