STIS: How long does a credit check stay on your credit report?

I am trying to convince a friend to look into buying rather than renting - she's convinced her credit is so bad, there's no way she'll be approved for a mortgage. "Besides, that credit check will bring down my credit score!"

How long will that actually affect her credit score? TIA

Buying your credit score doesn't ding your credit, only actually applying for credit does. -- nm - Ender Dec 9, 09:31 3
