that's the starbucks thing. I'd question it a little for higher-overhead places; but, upon thinking about it, I've seen a variation multiple times

now... there's a regular restaurant on one side (or side of the street) and a more casual or take-out place on the other. the oddish kind of thing would be having exactly the same in both places.
