I saw you asking about Austin v. Charlotte the other day.
Austin is out in your face funky/freaky. They are very granola based, liberal - easy going folks. Expensive to live there - compared to other Texas cities.
Char - on the other hand can be just as funky and freaky but they do it behind closed doors - even the bars do not advertise heavily but there is a lot going on there. It is a subdued way of thinking - but it is going on.
Just my opinion.
