Yesterday, I finally ventured to the final frontier in my house. In the living room there is a vaulted ceiling from 1st floor to roof. In the roof in

a 'cove' of sorts is a skylight. I have always been suspicious (based on cobweb movement) that this was a place where, in the winter, heat left the house fast.

Finally, with a lot of work by my wife and I to position an extension ladder into the cove I got up there. Draft is an understatement. Used lots of spackle where splits in the corners of the cove exposed areas beneath drywall and weatherstripped the hell out of it. It may not look pretty but no one else is going to see it so time will tell if my efforts bring about a good result. Don't intend to go back up there anytime soon if I can help it.
