in the book, was there any discussion of Alex not wearing a wedding ring?
I didn't look for one during the movie, but I doubt she was wearing one (wouldn't Clooney have noticed at some point, especially when they were looking at his sister's ring?), which means she actively takes her ring off. which is quite something.
