of course...but in auto racing; the strength of the car's design is much higher than in other sports related to talent of the athlete.

Schumacher is the best driver, Jimmie is the best Nascar driver. Give them all equal equipment, you can find out who's best truly. You give them both the best equipment too...it's inflated accomplishments is my point.
Just saying Schumacher won 7 titles doesn't really tell me much about his ability cuz I recognize in F1 that equipment wins as much as driver talent.
Take this season, the world champ won 6 of the first 7 races...then once the other teams put their R&D budgets to work under the new rules, he didn't win again (but still had a big enough lead to hold on for the title).
