fwiw, I think no raises aren't as big a thing as other issues.

we're in "cost containment" mode here this FY, at least. no raises, no stock purchase discount, etc. I'll gladly take a break from those perks vs. more layoffs (we had a small one of those recently, which sucks). my company is doing well, but there's no telling what economic conditions will push our customers to do/not do.

personal note: because of the accident, this will be my third year without a raise; and I missed 2+ years of 401K contributing and company matching, plus no IRA contributing was allowed for most of that time, because there was no earned income. I won't get any of that back, which sucks; but I am danged grateful to have a job and benefits.
