Dear Obama, if you backpedal and support the GOP plan (a darn good start), I promise not to ever rub it in your face.

1. Eliminate the pre-existing condition clause from all private insurance companies.
2. Allow insurance to be purchased across state lines.
3. Cap medical liability lawsuit damages.
4. Make all employer health coverage tax-deductable (for the employer).
Does this go far enough? Not in the long-term, no. But it's a great first step that almost everyone can agree on, and can go into effect (and start helping things) overnight.
Then you can start trimming the waste and fraud from Medicare. Once you get that sucker running better, then you can sell its expansion much easier.
